Monica Flory is a collaboration-loving playwright, director and teacher whose plays have been produced around the world. She is a director at Ghostlight Theater Camp, a member of Humble Materials, and host of the podcast Art Meet Offspring. She lives in Philadelphia with her family.

An artist statement of sorts:

Somewhere there’s a kid whose heart is too big for their body.

Between their ears lives a charm of hummingbirds, light and loud and buzzing.

The kid wants to say something about how they’re scared about hate and war and melting icebergs.

The kid wants to say something else about their wild hopes, how they look into the eyes of hurting people and love them so much.

They need the hummingbirds to rest for a moment, so that they can feel their own giant heart beat.

Monica is making theater for that kid.

Let’s Collaborate.
